Northcutt Productions has a team of seasoned filmmakers, artists and technicians. We assemble custom crews for each project and pride ourselves in creating synergy. The following people played key roles in creating the portfolio work on this site:
Patsy Northcutt: filmmaker / founder
Patsy Northcutt directed and produced all of the projects on this web site. While directing and producing are her strength and focus, she started as a shooter/editor and is highly skilled at both. This versatile skill set is handy for guerilla style documentary productions.
Northcutt started making slapstick comedy movies with friends when she was 15 and launched Northcutt Productions at age 20. She has always done a mix of documentary and marketing productions. In 1992, Patsy flew a crew of 3 to the Earth Summit in Rio for a documentary and in1994, she landed Apple, IBM, AT&T and Siemens as clients, which provided the budgets for many highly creative film and video productions. Northcutt has a clever business savvy and has combined her passion for filmmaking with her profound desire to help create the cultural shift toward environmental restoration and social justice.
Her academic credentials include:
• MA in Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Community from New College, Santa Rosa;
• BA in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara
• Completion of the Stanford University Mass Media Institute program in Documentary Film Production.
