The Pachamama Alliance
Patsy Northcutt is currently co-producing the videos for Pachamama's new video intensive version of their "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream" symposium. The mission of the Pachamama Alliance is to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on this planet. The videos address: Where are we? How did we get here? What is possible for the future? and Where do we go from here? The March alpha release was a smashing success and Pachamama is hopeful that the videos will enable them to reach millions of people.

"Heart of the Universe" with Brian Swimme, Feature Length Documentary for PBS
Patsy Northcutt just finished editing one hour of a two hour PBS documentary targeted for PBS. Northcutt was working in a freelance capacity for Neal Rogin and Ursa Minor. The film was directed by David Kennard and shot in HD on the island of Samos in Greece. It tells the story of the unfolding of the universe from the beginning to the present day, and is designed to develop a new and closer relationship between humanity and Earth.
Paul Hawken's "Blessed Unrest" Book Tour
Patsy Northcutt and Mark Woloshuck from the Northcutt team recently created two high definition animations for Paul Hawken's current Blessed Unrest book tour, to help him convey the scope and breadth of the environmental/social justice movement in short and powerful way. Michael Becker and Colin Farish, created original music for the project. So far the animations have been extremely well receive by large audiences. We also edited an excerpt of Hawken's Bioneers presentation. This includes the first of the two animations and can be viewed on his Blessed Unrest website. Excerpts can be also viewed at the tail of our Demo Reel.
"Farish and Friends" at Skywalker Sound
In early 2007, Northcutt directed and edited a 5 camera music video at Skywalker Sound. We shot in high definition and Robert Barcelona, our crane operator, did fabulous sweeping camera moves across the two grand pianos. Adam Loften helped create a moving mattes look, layering multiple cameras without using straight lines and boxes. The instrumentation varied from song to song and included Native American fluet, vocal and guitars, lead by a dynamic piano duet. The project was produced by Stillwater Sound, and working with the Skywalker recording team, they created a beautiful surround sound mix for a DVD release.
"Texas Gold", featuring Diane Wilson
Patsy Northcutt recently did the color correction for a Sundance Channel/PBS release of Texas Gold. She also worked as line producer, interviewer and additional camera for this award winning documentary short about Diane Wilson - an environmental activist who has put her life on the line successfully challenging the chemical industry. Northcutt has recently done additional camera work and editing for new material: Texas Gold: The Quest Continues. For more information, see: TexasGoldMovie.com.
"The Ecological Footprint: Accounting for a Small Planet"
We recently produced a German version of a half hour documentary about the Ecological Footprint that we produced for the Global Footprint Network, for Greenpeace Austria, to be distributed throughout Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The program features Mathis Wackernagel, Ph.D. and is rich with aerials, illustrations and a wide variety of visuals.
The Temple Beyond Tolerance
In the Fall of 2006, Northcutt Productions produced a short film for Dhillon Khosa, author of BOTH SIDES NOW: one man's journey through womanhood. The film tells Dhillon's story of living for twenty-eight years trapped in the body of a woman, how he discovered the truth of his gender and the long, difficult, heart-wrenching journey that he embarked on to become a complete man. Patsy Northcutt worked in tandem with Adam Loften to direct and edit this project, and Jim Iacona was the director of photography. The story was told in a temple like setting, with candles and high contrast lighting. Because the past was like a dream, rather than reality, we used glimpses of artfully projected images and movies projected on to walls of the set to depict it.
OneRoof
Northcutt Productions produced an upbeat funder/partner marketing video DVD for OneRoof, a socially responsible startup business that has as it's mission to bring essential goods and services to the rural poor in India and Mexico. We hired local crew in India and Mexico to avoid the cost and ecological footprint of transporting crew from our home base in Marin / San Francisco.
Extreme Learning
We recently produced an interactive marketing DVD that features English and bilingual Spanish/English versions of a video that introduces the on-site, after-school services of Extreme Learning to parents of K-12 students that are having trouble with school. Look for excerpts here in a few weeks.
"Doing Life: With the Possibility of Parole"
Patsy Northcutt edited a 15 minute teaser for the feature length documentary, "Doing Life: With the Possibility of Parole", a work-in-progress by Illuminata Films. The film introduces the humanity inside the prisons to the humanity outside. First hand accounts of Lifers are interwoven with the experiences and concerns of victims to create and powerful and thought provoking documentary.
